Seashore Stampers Blog Hop - Happy New Year!

Happy New Year Everyone...

and Welcome from Mi Ran's blog!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow starts 2017! Where does the time go?

Seashore Stampers is happy to be sharing New Year projects with you today. In some parts of the world, New Years is as big a thing as Christmas when it comes to giving out cards. Today would be the last day that you could order some New Year stamp sets, so if you would like to order any, here is the link to shopping for "It's a Celebration" or "Frosted Medallion".

For my New Years card today, I am using the Frosted Medallion set, and chose the colours of Pool Party and Gold. Using my Aqua Painters I washed a bit of Pool Party ink in the background. When dried, I then used my Embossing Buddy, and heat embossed with gold the smaller of the medallions in this set. The sparkly gold glitter paper is great for New Years which I used to mat the stamped front and stitched oval sentiment with. I used my Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker to colour in the "Happy New Year", and my clear Wink of Stella to fill in the design on either side.

In this next photo you can see that the oval is the only thing that I popped up with dimensionals.

For the inside, a lovely sentiment (all text stamped with Basic Gray) and more of the smaller medallions matted with more gold glitter paper.

So there you have my New Year card for you. I also made another one for the Dream Theme International Blog hop with the other stamp set. If you would like to see that one, if you haven't already, click here.

Again, Happy New Year everyone!

By clicking on the "Next Blog" button, you will start the blog hop from the beginning. Be sure to leave everyone a comment as you check out all the lovely creations made by the Seashore Stampers.

DSP Sneak Peek Sympathy Card - 2

Hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas!

I had planned to post this a couple of weeks ago! I have had a few funerals to go to and will have another in January. It seems many of the adults that I grew up with, and our family knew well, are now passing on.

As in in the last sympathy card, I am using the same DSP that will shortly be available in the 2017 Occasions Catalogue (Falling In Love DSP). The dies are from the August 2016 special release of Thoughtful Branches.

Colours used are, Very Vanilla, Tip Top Taupe, and Basic Black. I didn't take the usual number of photos, because I was in a hurry. This is the only one I managed to get. By changing the sentiment, this card would work for nearly any occasion (and you can always substitute the die cuts with something similar).

Happy creating!

Dream Theme Internationsl Blog Hop - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Welcome from Renate's blog.  With the end of the year not far behind Christmas, we are taking the time to share with you some New Year inspiration.
The 2016 Holiday Catalogue does carry some New Year related stamp sets, and my shared project uses the "It's a Celebration" stamp set. I don't usually make New Year cards, but I had a blast creating it. I noticed that black, gold & silver seem to be the colour choice for New Years; why not, as there are some formal parties with tux and gown where the New Year is greeted at midnight.

I'm sharing with you an A7 card (7"w x 5"h) and a coordinating 'Curvy Keepsake' treat box.

Here is the card with the heat embossed gold & silver sparkler, or fireworks if you wish, as the background.

The gold foil numbers are raised with dimensionals, and the vellum heat embossed banner is attached to the numbers.

Some more gold heat embossing on the inside with a sentiment (from Frosted Medallions.

The little "Curvy Keepsake Box" look great with the gold & silver heat embossing and gold ribbon and vellum tag.

If you are planning a New Years party, perhaps this project has inspired you in preparing for it. Be sure to check out the Team's creations on their blogs for more inspiration and fun.
