Sneak Peek - First Sight Part 5

This is the final card made for the Sneak Peek of the "First Sight" stamp set.

Again, I did some background stamping, and one of my favorite techniques, ink blending. For all the background stamping, I second stamped so that ink was lighter in colour.

Here is a close up so you can better see the stamping and Ink blending work, as well as what I did with the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment onto the banner, and again on a scrap of Old Olive cardstock, and used the Word Window Punch for the "Happy Thoughts" part of it.

With the side view you can see the layering of this card.

For the butterfly, I first blended inks onto a scrap of Whisper White, and stamp the butterfly with Old Olive ink before punching it out.

For the inside I second stamped just a bit of the scroll stamp at the corners. I can leave the inside as is for a lot of writing, or I can add another stamp for a sentiment when I use the card.

So there you have the final Sneak Peek for the "First Sight" series. What will be next?

Check out what I used to create this card, with the exception of the new stamp set.

Sneak Peek - First Sight Part 4

In the first part of this series, I mentioned all the different occasions for the use of this stamp set. One of them was "Mothers Day". Here is a sample of one using the Lovely "First Sight" set.

You can see that I created background stamping on the right side edge. And I used the sentiment stamp in three different pieces. You can do this in two different ways. One is by covering what you don't want to ink with tape, remove the tape and then stamp. Or, you can use your Stampin' Write Markers on just the words you want to stamp.

Here is a side view showing you how everything is layered.

For the inside, I used the heart stamp in the two corners.

This card would beautiful in any colour; Brights, Subtles, Regals and Neutrals! With the exception of the new stamp set, everything I used you will find below.

This stamp set would also be great to combine with any number of other stamp sets.

Thank you stopping by for another Sneak Peak of this stamp set. What will be next? Check in and see.

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek - First Sight Part 3

Even though a person may make a lot of cards, and give them out for all those special occasions, I think to give someone a card for no particular occasion, but just to acknowledge something like friendship, is something that could be done more often. A special friendship should be celebrated at any time; just whenever

So here is one.

Stamping backgrounds is always fun. For this card I used Versamark on the Pink Pirouette, and second stamped the Tip Top Taupe. and Wild Wasabi on the Ornate Tag. For the heart stamp I used the Stampin' Write Markers.

Here's the side view of the card.

For the inside, I stamped the two corners, and I masked the part of the sentiment I didn't want with tape, inked the exposed word 'Friend', removed the tape from the sentiment, and stamped the word. (or you could use your Stampin' Write Basic Black Marker on the word 'Friend/s')

With the exception of the new stamp set, everything I used you will find below.

Sneak Peek - First Sight Series Part 2

Using the same stamp set (First Sight - 2016 Occasions Catalogue) as yesterday, I decided to create a Card that could work for Valentines Day or an Anniversary, in Red, Black & White.

I love using the new Archival Basic Black ink pad. It stamps beautifully! Below you can see a closeup.

I love to create strips of text which you see using the word 'Love'. I masked the rest of the sentiment with tape, inked the exposed word 'Love', removed the tape from the sentiment, and stamped the word along the 3/8' strip. (or you could use your Stampin' Write Basic Black Marker on the word 'Love') Under the strip I used the white Uni-Ball Gel Pen to create the faux stitching line.

Next you can see the layering with the upper white and the red heart popped up with diemensionals.

On the inside I added another strip with the word 'love', and stamped a little pattern in the lower corners.

Hope you are inspired a little more with today's "First Sight" Sneak Peek. I'll be showing a few more, so be sure to check in for another peak. With the exception of the new stamp set, everything I used you will find below.

Sneak Peek - First Sight Series Part 1

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

To continue with the 2016 Occasions Catalogue Sneak Peeks, we''l be looking at the lovely stamp set that will be great to use when creating Valentines, Anniversary, Wedding, Best Friend, and Mother's Day cards. This set is found on page 36 of the new Occasions Catalogue.

For the first card, I chose the "best friends" theme. Below you see the stamps from the set.

For the heart, I used Stampin' Write Markers to get the multiple colour stamp. The rest was stamped using the ink pads. Below you can see the layering in the side view of the card.

For the inside I took the little tiny stamps and created a bit of a corner pattern.

With the exception of the new stamp set, everything I used you will find below.

Need a Last Minute Gift? - Framed Christmas Decor

I was going to start showing you more things made for Sneak Peeks with the new things I ordered from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue, but decided instead to go back to a couple of Christmas things I've made.

This one is a Sampler made using most of my current Christmas stamp set, using a full 8 1/2" x 11" Whisper White cardstock sheet. This is not the one I gifted, but my first attempt. I wasn't happy that some of the blocks were not perfect. Some sides were not square. The other thing is that with the Nativity scene I tried to save time by putting the three stamps all together on a clear block. The result was that they were too spread out. And the third thing I wasn't happy with is the snowflake block. So I redid it, but never got a photo of it. So to share my idea with you, I'm showing you the first one with it's imperfections, and not framed.

So that you can better see it, here is the top half...

...and here is the bottom half.

I did use a lot of 5" x 3" Post-It-Notes, but it's a fun project to do and you can get Post-Its real cheap at the dollar stores.

This project came together pretty quickly, so if you are still needing a last minute Christmas gift, create something like this. Put it in a frame, and the receiver will have a gift to remember every Christmas when they put it out with their decorations!

Below is everything that I used. What was really different about this project is I didn't have to cut anything!

So if you find a bunch of frames at the thrift stores, you can quickly paint them any colour with spray paint and create wonderful samplers as gifts!

Thank you for stopping by today, and Merry Christmas to you all!
