Home For Christmas DSP Cards - #4, 5 & 6

There is a lot to share with you over the next few days, so instead of showing you the details of each card individually in each post, I've decided to reveal them three at a time. To keep the posts from getting too long because of that, I will only be showing you a single outside shot of each card. The inside will be revealed to those that sign up for the class.

This first card uses two of the DSP, one as a background, and the other for the Poinsettias.

A little Gold Cord Trim and a doily helps to set things off beautifully.

Next is a card with a fair bit of fussy cutting. It's all the gifts that take the time, but well worth the effort.

Lots of different layering on this card.

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

The last and sixth of the cards is created using two DSPs again. The Silent Night music for the background and fussy cut ornaments from the other.

Using the black and cream colours of the music paper creates a wonderful backdrop to pop the ornament colours.

Home For Christmas DSP Cards - #1, 2 & 3

There is a lot to share with you over the next few days, so instead of showing you the details of each card individually in each post, I've decided to reveal them three at a time. To keep the posts from getting too long because of that, I will only be showing you a single outside shot of each card. The inside will be revealed to those that sign up for the class.

For this first card, I fussy cut some of the buildings and trees. The snowy landscape is created by tearing a piece of Whisper White cardstock and smearing Dazzling Diamonds on the torn part. I then created a layered scene by using a single or double layer of Dimensionals.

Here is what I used int he making of this card.

Next is this sweet Reindeer card.

A very simple card, but very effective. I fussy cut a couple of Reindeer and popped them up over the sentiment. Inside I have one that is laying down in the the lower right corner

What I used to create this card.

...And the third card for today.

I used my 2" circle punch to get this image, and used the circle dies to mat it, and create the Silver Glimmer Paper ring. The red banner is positioned under the doily while the white one is placed over the doily and ring and then positioning the matted image over top.

Hope you enjoyed my creations and are inspired to use elements already in your DSP to create cards. See you at class!

Dove of Peace - Vellum & Glitter

This last "Dove of Peace' card is a CAS (clean and simple) card. All the glitter and sparkle gives it a big punch.

The dove is heat embossed onto vellum and had cut out. I used real thick large clear glue dots that I cut in half to raise and pop up the dove with. I've had them for a while and are no longer in the box, so I can't give you more info on them, but you can't get them from Stampin' Up.

Next, you can see the side view.

On the inside I wanted to continue with some glimmer, so I added a strip of the Silver Glimmer Paper at the top. Then I off stamped a part of the dove twice on the right side.

So that's it for the last of the "Dove of Peace" cards for the classes in October.

Monday, October 5th
1:00pm - 4:30pm

OR
Wednesday, October 7th
6:00pm - 9:30pm

With Stamp Set - $48.00 (includes package of pearls too)
Without Stamp Set - $29.00 (includes package of pearls)

We will be creating 6 cards this time. All the heat embossing will be done for you ahead of time. We will learn how to stamp just one line of text from a multi-lined sentiment, do a little colouring, stamping a background, and a little ink resist technique. So lots of fun!

If you have the following ink stamp pads, bring them to class: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party. Please bring your "To Go Kit" and either pencil crayons, or markers in colours as close to Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Old Olive as you can.

Registration and payment deadline is Thursday, September 24th to get the stamp sets and supplies in time for class.

To sign up you can email me (sabradcreations@gmail.com) or RSVP .

Dove of Peace and Fanciful Colouring

For this card I decided to position the "Softly Falling" embossed piece sideways. It gives it an entirely different look, and I really like it. The lovely pattern on the dove draws you to colouring all the fanciful pattern.

Since I don't have all of my "Stampin' Write Markers" yet, I was a little limited in my colour choice. But I suppose that coloured pencils would work too.

The only things popped up are the dove and the sentiment banner.

And, for the inside I decided to just put a couple of banner strips like I did on the front.

So that's it for this card. I have another one for you tomorrow.

Happy Stamping!

Dove of Peace - Sponge Ink Blending & Dazzling Details

Second card posting for today...

I paired Pool Party with Night of Navy cardstock. One of my favorite things to do is Sponge ink blending. I did it with the dove using the same colours as the cardstock but also added a touch of Old Olive ink. I then added a very thin layer of "Dazzling Details" over top to make the dove glimmer.

You can see the "Dazzling Details" better in this next photo.

And next, you see the layering.

And the inside... (I missed the tip of the wing when inking the stamp...)

Thank you for taking a peek at today's second card posting. I just received my first set of Aqua Painters and wish I had had them when creating these cards. I may make another card with this stamp, using them, some time in the next couple of months.

Happy Stamping!

Dove of Peace & Lucky Stars Folder

The lucky Stars impressions folder is a great one to use for Christmas cards, and I paired it with the "Dove of Peace" stamp for this card. I love mostly, or all, white cards. It is set off nicely with Cherry Cobbler and gold heat embossing.

Because the spacing between the cirlcle framelits is wider than I like, I had cut the real red inner circle. This was a bit of a challenge, but paid off.

Next you can see the layering of this card.

There is no photo of the inside, because I forgot to finish it and didn't notice it until I was taking the card photos. I decided to just leave it, and maybe later, when I send the card off to someone, I might add a little something inside.

Thank you for stopping by. If you drop in again later today there will  be another Dove of Peace card for you to see.

Happy Stamping!

Dove of Peace - Vellum, Pearls & Doilies

Today's first Dove of Peace card is in a very different style compared to yesterday's. Doilies and pearls make this a more feminine Christmas card.

And once again, I used a discontinued cardstock colour in the mix- Pistachio Pudding. I wanted all soft colours. You'll note that I heat embossed only one line of the sentiment of this stamp, onto the strip of vellum.

You can see the layering of this card, next.

The inside is very simple. The entire sentiment is stamped and a white heat embossed vellum snowflake is added.

Hope you enjoyed this card. I'm posting another "Dove of Peace" card later today, so stop by again.

May you be inspired for your Christmas card creations.

Happy Stamping!

Dove of Peace - Christmas in Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay & Coastal Cabana

In my pile of scraps one day, I came across these three colours together and was struck at how striking the combination was. My next thought was, "Can I make a Christmas card using these colours?" By adding a touch of gold, I was truly pleased at the out come.

I know that "Coastal Cabana" is no longer available, but I have nearly a whole package left and decided to use it for this class. For the Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy ink with the sprig stamp from the new "Peaceful Wreath" stamp set, I was able to create a lovely background for the gold embossed Dove and the sentiment.

For the inside, I cut a strip off the background piece I stamped and added it on the left as well as stamping the Dove with Coastal Cabana.

So this non traditional colour combination for this Christmas card is a thumbs up for me. Hope you like it too. Thanks for checking in today to have a look.

Happy stamping!
